Hiclone Installation
PLEASE NOTE: For best results place one Hiclone 150 to 200mm (6 to 8 inches) back from the throttle body and a second Hiclone at the air filter end.

Carburettor/Throttle Body Injection Type:

CAUTION
  • Switch off engine before installation!
  • Work gloves should be worn when handling & installing the unit - they are very sharp!
  • KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN
Hiclone installation step 1

Remove wing nut from the air cleaner housing

Hiclone installation step 2

Fuel Injection/E.F.I. & Diesel Type

CAUTION
  • Switch off engine before installation!
  • Work gloves should be worn when handling & installing the unit - they are very sharp!
  • KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN
Hiclone installation EFI step 1

Install the Hiclone. Reinstall the air cleaner top, and that's it!

Hiclone installation EFI step 2

Install the Hiclone. Reinstall the air cleaner top, and that's it!

Hiclone installation EFI step 3

Install the Hiclone. Reinstall the air cleaner top, and that's it!

NOTE: The leading edge of the Hiclone fins are curved, the rear are flat. The curved edge faces the incoming air flow. The Hiclone should fit snug and tight inside of hose.

Note for Diesel Installation: For 10 to 20% gain in economy place a single Hiclone at the manifold end. For even better results place a second Hiclone at the air filter end.

Turbo Diesel Installation: For low down grunt, a second Hiclone before the turbo will bring the turbo on up to 600 rpm earlier. This is because the Hiclone gets the air spinning before it reaches the turbo. Hiclone must sit a minimum of 150mm (6 inches) away from the turbo.

Measuring the hose or pipe for EFI and diesel engines: Measure the inside diameter of the air hose in mm just before the inlet manifold on diesel engines. On EFI engines - 150/200 mm back from the throttle body and after the air filter or just after the air flow meter if one is fitted.

Note for Twin Carburetors: Engines with twin carburettors with isolated air filters and two pipes going to the carburetors require two Hiclones - one for each pipe.

Note for Extra Performance: Two Hiclones can be installed for extra Performance, on diesels one just before the inlet manifold the second at the other end of the air hose. EFI motors: Generally one Hiclone 150/200 mm back from the throttle body, the second just after the air flow meter.

Returns: Only 11 Hiclones were returned on the last 1000 sales - nearly a 99% success rate. Most were exchanged for a Fuelmax/Supermax never to be seen again .

Happy Motoring,
