Hiclone: Use gloves as they are very sharp in places, if a tight fit, use a little detergent in the pipe, it will let the Hiclone slide in a lot easier, no need to wash it out as it dries out very quickly.
For best results place 1x Hiclone 25/75mm (1 to 3 inches) back from the throttle body or inlet manifold, install a 2nd Hiclone at the air filter end of the induction pipe and after the air flow meter if one is installed, if installing 2x Hiclones into the same pipe you need a minimum of approx. 100mm between the 2x units.
Because of the Hiclones de-coking effect and the computer re-calculating, it takes a little time before you feel the full effects of Hiclone, usually after approx. 200Km. you'll start to feel a difference that gets better with time.

The Hiclone should be a nice tight fit inside the air induction pipe with all the fins touching in the middle.
How does Hiclone work?
Hiclone has a series of fins, it's installed into the air induction pipe between the air filter and engine or inter-cooler and engine also pre-turbo, as the air is being sucked or blown past the Hiclone fins it makes the air spin, the Hiclone doesn’t move, it makes the air move.
By spinning the air, you'll get a much better air/fuel mix, this gives you better combustion and more power from the fuel, more power means you use your right foot less, hence improved fuel economy.
Spinning the air also creates a vortex that wants to and does suck more air in, so you get a double whammy, more air and a better mixture.
This is how Hiclone works.
Note for Diesel installation: For a 15 to 20% gain in fuel economy install 1x Hiclone at the engine end of the induction pipe. For even greater results place a 2nd Hiclone at the air filter end.
Turbo Diesel installation: Install 1x Hiclone at the engine end and after the inter-cooler if ones fitted. For low down grunt, place a 2nd Hiclone at the filter end pre-turbo this will bring the turbo on up to 600 rpm earlier. This is because the Hiclone gets the air spinning before it reaches the turbo. In most cases the Hiclone must sit a minimum of 100mm back from the turbo.
Diesel Tdi. installation: Installing Hiclone just before the inlet manifold will give you between 5-15% increase in power & 10-20% better fuel economy, if you have 100mm or more between the inlet and inter-cooler you can place a 2nd just after the inter-cooler this will give you 30-50% more than one unit. Installing Hiclone at the filter end of the air induction pipe (pre-turbo) will assist the turbo, bringing it on up to 600 rpm earlier, this also eases the load on the engine which also helps your fuel economy.
Snorkel: Installing Hiclone into the top of the down pipe will surprise you with extra power and economy as it creates a vortex that wants to and does suck more air in. If ordering for a snorkel you'll need to remove the top cap and measure the inside diameter (in mm) at the top of the down pipe.
Petrol EFI: Installing Hiclone near the throttle body will give you 5-15% increase in power and between 10-20% better fuel economy, placing a 2nd at the filter end will give you 30-50% more than 1x unit.
We have most (but not all) vehicles listed in our data base, so we may ask you to measure (in mm) the inside diameter of the air induction pipe. For Efi and diesel engines measure the inside diameter of the pipe just before the inlet manifold on diesel engines. On Efi engines approx. 50/75 mm back from the throttle body, also at the air filter end and after the air flow meter if one is fitted. We may also ask you to measure just after the inter-cooler. No need to measure now, only if we ask you.
Note for Twin Carburetors: Engines with twin carburetors with isolated air filters with two pipes going to the carburetors require two Hiclones, one for each pipe, you may need to do a little measuring, we'll let you know if we don't know the size.
Note for extra performance: In many vehicles 2, 3 or 4 Hiclones can be installed for extra performance. On diesels 1x placed just before the inlet manifold a 2nd at the filter end of the induction pipe and a 3rd just after the inter-cooler if one is installed, we've also had very good results installing them into the top of the snorkel down pipe, this is because of the vortex they create, it wont carry on spinning the air past the filter but the engine will breaths much easier.
Efi engines: Generally, one Hiclone near the throttle body, the 2nd at the filter end and just after the air flow meter if one is installed, if it's a long induction pipe with join in the middle a 3rd unit can be placed into the middle of the pipe with very good results.
The engine must be switched off before installing Hiclone, please note they are very sharp in places, wear gloves when you install and please don't let children play with them.
