Hiclone is a simple device that is installed into the air induction pipe between the air filter and the turbo, just before the inlet manifold and just after the inter-cooler also at the top off the snorkel. 1x's good, 2x's better 3x's best 4x's is the ultimate.
Lets say you need 2800 RPM to sit on 100Km,if your getting more power from the fuel then sitting on 100Kph. may only need 2500 RPM, this is going to save you money as your don't have to use your right foot so much.
Diesel/Tdi: Hiclone installed just before the inlet manifold will give you between 5-15% increase in power & 10-20% better fuel efficiency, placing a 2nd just after the inter-cooler will give you 30-50% more than one unit, installing one at the filter end of the induction pie pre-turbo will assist the turbo and bring it on up to 600 rpm earlier, this helps your fuel economy even more.
Petrol/EFI: Installing a Hiclone 50-100mm back from the throttle body will give you 5-15% increase in power and between 10-20% better fuel economy, a second unit at the filter end will give you 30-50% more than one Hiclone.
This is how Hiclone works. By spinning the air you'll get an improved air/fuel mixture, this creates a better combustion, hence more power and fuel economy.
Hiclones better burn effects also de-coke the engine. As the mileage builds up so do the carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, this robs you of power, so slowly though the years you have to put your foot down a little more to get the power to get up that hill, by removing these deposits it will bring back a lot of the lost power, so again less use of your right foot.
Snorkel:
If you have a snorkel a Hiclone into the top of the down pipe will surprise you with extra power and economy as it creates a vortex that wants to and does suck more air in.
